Hello National Poetry Writing Month

Hello writers, poets and everyone in between and Happy National Poetry Writing Month! I have decided to try my hand at #NaPoWriMo this year. While I do not consider myself to have a specific poetry style, after doing some research I learned that what I do write falls somewhere along the lines of Ekphrastic Poetry and just random prose.

Basically, I write whatever is on my mind at the time, or better yet whatever the Holy Spirit lays on my heart. I have decided to share some of my past poetic writings in my blog for each day of 30 day #NaPoWriMo journey as well as create some new works along the way.

A lot of what I write is inspired by prayers and revelations from my prayer time with God. As mentioned before I am not sure how or what style of poetry it can fall into as I do not consider most if not all of it to have a rhythmic structure or metre. In a way, they feel more like a Psalm to me. A poetic expression of the heart. Or at least that’s my definition, as when David wrote the Psalms, they were as a result of gut wrenching, heart felt, passionate love letters, prayers, and outpourings to the Holy Father in heaven.

So, whether or not you plan to participate in #NaPoWriMo, it is my hope that you find the poetic works that I post here of interest or inspiration to your daily life. Many are very personal in nature; and are an outward expression of my personal walk with God. I pray you enjoy what you read and feel free to leave {kind} feedback on how each piece made you feel.

Until next time, Write from the Heart.
