Thankful Thursdays

“There’s always always always something to be thankful for.” – unknown

What are you thankful for?

It’s November, and the usual time of year when people become more focused on giving and gratitude. But why wait until a particular month to focus on what we are grateful for; when there’s always something, all year long to be grateful or thankful for in every season of our lives.

“In every thing give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJ21)

Scripture teaches us to give thanks in all seasons, for it is the will of God concerning us. Many times we get bogged down with work, school, church, and family obligations that we miss the gratefulness of those moments. So focused on the “go-go” of life, and the hustle of survival that we oft times become cynical and bitter. Complain more, gripe and vent more, and all out loathe life itself. Or, on the flip side, we may take on unhealthy habits to mask and cope with the pain of of the toil that our sometimes hectic lives can bring.

Nevertheless, we must give thanks. It’s good for the soul. It brings us peace in a difficult world. Guarding our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus.

Don’t be anxious about anything; rather, bring up all of your requests to God in your prayers and petitions, along with giving thanks. Then the peace of God that exceeds all understanding will keep your hearts and minds safe in Christ Jesus.”

~ Philippians 4:6-7 (CEB)

So again, I ask the question…   “What are you thankful for?”

Until next time….
